scroll box on sidebar

Since I'm a genius and deleted, somehow, the code that put my labels in a scroll box, I was forced to look into this scroll box matter again.  The way I linked up to (here) wasn't working for me for some reason and in the process of kicking myself for messing with a good thing, I've found an easier way to make a scroll box on your sidebar.

A lot easier.

Go here and it gives you a code to use in your advanced css box. (template>customize>advanced>css box).

It's a lot better than trying to paste a code into your html.

You're welcome :).

picasa editing

I got the individual shots from our impromptu photo shoot during Easter (here) and I started playing around with a new "toy" that I found.  Maybe you've already heard about this, sometimes I'm slow on the uptake.  Picasa is an editing program that you can download for free.  Oh yes, free, it's singing my song.  I've been using it on pictures for a little while now (like on my blog banners and collages).  I'm in love.

Along with showing off the pics of these adorable kids, I thought I'd throw in some examples of what you can do to tweak pics with Picasa. :)
The original pictures from Jessica T Photography are labeled with a caption.  The rest are ones I played with.

Sidebar scroll box tutorial

I stand by my statement (that really, I probably use too much) that you can learn anything from Google (feel free to insert Bing, Yahoo, or any other search engine here). Aside from learning how to rip and reformat a training video at work so we could replay it on windows media player and burn it onto multiple dvds for upcoming interviews, I have also learned this week how to make a scroll box for my sidebar.  It's pictured above, but it's also, obviously, on my right sidebar.  Love it.  So I thought I'd pass the info on.  First, you need to know your widget ID, so you can tweak your widget into a scroll box.  I learned how to find that ID from bloggersentral here.  Then I followed bloggersentral's instructions for a scroll box here. They were super easy, and in case you didn't know (I'm sure you did, but just in case) to find the code that he says to find, you can just hit "ctrl+F" and it gives you a search box to put the code in at the top of your screen.  It's a lot easier than trying to find the scrap of code by yourself.  Also, don't include the numbers he has on his lines, I just copied and pasted the lines one at a time so I wouldn't pick up those line numbers.
Sadly, this didn't help me with putting my blog list in a scroll box.  The scroll box showed up, but the blog list stayed as it was underneath it.  I guess that will be my next thing to figure out.

How to make a button with a grab box

They're everywhere. How are bloggers doing it??? Hey wait... I did it...

The Circus

And if I can do it, I'm here to say that ANYONE can do it. But I can't take the credit for it, I'm just going to pass on the links to those who can take credit. I just copied their work.
First of all is Manic Mother with her link here, which is the post I used. But yesterday I also ran across this post from Ginger Snaps where she also goes over it. So for those who asked, and those who didn't but were wondering... there you go. I joined the ranks in spilling the beans with this. And hey, while you're at it, add my button to your blog ;).
Also, thanks for the comments. AND my give away ends tomorrow, you know, the one called "How To Increase Your Blog Traffic". Check it out, only one day left.
