Last Minute. Always.

The Man likes to say things like, oh by the way we're going here or doing this when you get home from work... in an hour.

The Man has no thought of advance notice, even if he himself has known about it for days.

And sometimes it's something like, I'm halfway to St. George right now, did you want to follow me down? (Here, here, and here).  See?  It happens a lot.

And other times, like yesterday, it's we're going to go visit my grandma when you get home, she's not feeling well.

Which all in all is a fine thing to do, but his grandma lives in Brigham City which is roughly an hour and a half away.

On a school/work night.

He did give me the choice to not go, but honestly, you make time for family.

The end.

Even if it is last minute.

Minus Casidee though.  She'd already called me about making plans with a friend before I was told about the plans that were made to go see grandma.

Apparently these plans had been made the day before?

It's the price I pay to be married to him.  And I'm not really complaining, I'm always up for an adventure.  I just think it's hilarious that he does it to me.  So.  Much.

As we pulled off the freeway for Brigham City it was getting dark and we noticed the new LDS temple glowing in the distance.

The Man says, do you want to go see it after we see Grandma?

Which, of course I did.

And he says, it doesn't interest me much, but it makes my wife happy, and that makes me happy.

It's been awhile since the girls and I decided to visit all the temples in Utah, but we can cross this one off our list now.

Fun things come out of "last minute".

after two weeks of playing hard... happy birthday grandma

Back to life, back to reality.
After two weeks of playing hard my alarm clock rang out this morning at a much too early hour.
Oddly enough, I was ready for it.

Travelogue posts to come.
I know you can barely contain your excitement at such a prospect.

Happy  84th birthday to Grandma W, yesterday.

This lady is hilarious.

Tomorrow  is Pioneer Day here in Utah.  That means another holiday in July where we have picnics and BBQs and shoot off fireworks with friends and family to celebrate our state becoming... well, a state in this great country.
Because you just can't have enough picnics and BBQs and fireworks in July.

This also means that since I happen to work for the state of Utah, I get the day off.

When I come back from a two week vacation I like to do it slowly.

Reason #6 on why I love my job.

Posts I need to get up this week:
birthday posts for Julie Mom and Brent Dad
a really good one that makes fun of my "twin" brother Nick
Girl's Camp: BOOT Camp
Lake Powell:crashing the neighbor's vacay
a prank on the lake
a portrait of yours truly drawn by my 10 year old.  It's pretty accurate.

Enough of this, it's time to clear out the email and voicemail.  I suppose some of us should actually work for a living.
