How many kids can you fit into the cab of a the monster truck?
When you have 8 people in your family and a four seater truck because your 8 seater Navigator is still broken and it's The Man's birthday and you have to meet family at a restaurant, what else are you supposed to do?
We tried to pick up the Navigator.
They told us it was all done.
We closed our eyes and paid the $1300 bill (two weeks before Christmas) and...
When I started it up to go home, the air suspension light was still on on the dashboard.
Hey, didn't you guys say you fixed this?
Didn't we just pay way more than we should have right now?
Why is this light still on?
Oh, it's just going to be on now for no reason?
If our car is fixed and it's saying that it's not, then you've made it worse.
Fix it. We've paid you to.
The disappointment of thinking I was finally, after 6 days, getting my car back, and then realizing that I wasn't... gah!
And then I realize, I'm such a whiner pants.
And I think about how we joke about first world problems at work.
How dare we complain about
only having one bar on our phones in the conference room
the server is slow
the heated seats in the car went out
we ran out of coffee at the office
the smartboard isn't centered
we don't have the right kind of pens
the choices for the Christmas lunch at the Capitol are lame
wifi is down
It's silly.
And it almost makes me ashamed sometimes when I hear myself complain about something that is clearly a first world problem and I actually have a very posh and comfortable life.
So maybe my Navigator is in the shop going on 7 days and maybe it cost us a small "fortune" right before Christmas, and maybe I have to get up and go to work an hour earlier so The Man can drop me off before he goes to work, and maybe I can't run errands on my lunch to finish up Christmas projects that are looming over my head, and maybe we had to cram all 8 of us into the monster truck to go to dinner, but...
But.
